Good+, Book includes a handwritten letter by Cordell Hull, who was U. S. Secretary of State from 1933-1944, appointed by F. D. R. Letterhead is "Department of State - The Secretary" Written in ink below this: "My Dear Dr. Hinsdale: Thank you for your courtesy in sending me copy of the London Weekly Times. I have read it with interest, and am glad to return it herewith. Sincerely Yours, Cordell Hull Aug. 15, 1939" Letter is pasted at the top edge to the back inside cover of the book. A newspaper clipping of a photo of Hull is included. The book itself has some slight fraying at edges and corners and a few small stains on page ends. A few spots on spine are bleached. Text has some pencil underlining and former owner's name in pen on first page.
